About Us

Our Mission

The Cancer Connection Idaho’s mission is to provide a comfortable place for people touched by cancer to find support, resources, education and a sense of community.”

margoThe Cancer Connection Idaho is a unique local non-profit that was founded in 2011. Our founders were inspired by their own cancer experiences to create a source of refuge and support for survivors, patients, and their families and friends.  We are committed to the power of community and we understand that cancer is too overwhelming and complex to face alone.

 Dear Cancer Connection Idaho Supporters,

With grateful hearts, we are writing to thank you for your support of The Cancer Connection Idaho (TCCI), inform you of changes, and invite your continued partnership.

We are at a crossroads. Since 2011, TCCI has served hundreds of people through education, resources, and support for people affected by cancer. This past year we have been exploring collaborations with other non-profits as a way to operate more efficiently and extend our reach. To be the most responsible stewards of TCCI funding, our organization is shifting from a local non-profit with paid staff and a physical location to a completely volunteer advisory board that oversees grant-based programs throughout the state. Instead of TCCI providing educational, mind body skills, movement, support, nutrition and expressive arts programs directly, we will support and help fund other non-profit and educational groups in Idaho who share our philosophy and passion for this work. We’re making this transition after careful study of national trends, operational efficiency, our program participation levels, and partnership options.

We are pleased to announce that The Cancer Connection Idaho will join with the Idaho Community Foundation (ICF) to spread our mission of empowerment to people throughout the state of Idaho with The Cancer Connection of Idaho Fund in the Idaho Community Foundation.

The partnership with ICF, which has offices statewide, has the potential to assist groups throughout Idaho as they create programs benefiting needs in their community. “Community” could be place-based, such as geographic rural or urban locations, or thematic, such as teens, caregivers or outdoor enthusiasts. Through this new partnership model, we will continue TCCI’s mission to serve diverse needs of people touched by cancer.

We invite you to stay involved with TCCI and our new directions. Please visit the ICF website to learn more about the fund, and connect with them on Facebook. We also invite you to visit The Cancer Connection Idaho Fund at ICF to help support our mission.

We will be communicating our grant making process and guidelines in the near future. Please contact us at info@cancerconnectionidaho.org with any questions. Thank you in advance for your continued support.

Sincerely,
